All blankets are hung to drip dry after the cleaning process.  This will minimize shrinkage on most blankets. 

We will not put any blanket in the dryer

If you do wash your own blankets, many of the newer bindings will actually melt if put in the dryer so be careful! We highly recommend that blankets be cleaned on a regular basis, even if you choose to clean them yourselves.  The ammonia found in urine and manure act like acid on fabric, greatly reducing the strength and life of horse items, making it easier for horses to rip and destroy. The worst thing that many people do is to store dirty blankets for the summer.  the sun and heat can bake all the ammonias into the fabric, leaving permenant stains and weakening the fabric .  When you are ready to store your blankets for the summer, please make certain to clean them first!   We use Nature's Blend Blanket wash unless otherwise requested.   Nature's Blend is a Non-detergent, bio-degradable. Cleans blankets leaving water repellency intact. Specially formulated to clean nylon, canvas, cotton, polyester, acrylic or denim blankets. Brightens colors, removes tough odors and leaves horse blankets looking and smelling clean and fresh.   If requested we will launder in Rambo Wash, Nikwax Rug Wash, or Microtek Blanket Wash.
